The Business Transformation Service offers support to businesses that have the opportunity and desire to grow and transform their performance, but have critical issues preventing them from realising their full potential. The service provides a flexible package of guidance, direction and intensive support to address those issues to enable rapid progress in order that key business goals are achieved.
What is the purpose of the service?
To provide intensive support to aspirational businesses in order to transform their performance through:
- Supporting the business owners / leadership team to defi ne their strategic direction and develop associated business plans
- Offering access to in-depth support services and funding to accelerate the implementation of business plans
- Building the capability and confi dence of the business owners / leadership team so that they can manage transformational change themselves in the longer term.
What is available?
- Fully funded mentor support to guide, provide direction and facilitate the strategic development of the business with the business owners / leadership team
- A Business Transformation Grant to fund third-party consultancy support, with 50% funding for consultancy projects up to £10,000
- Access to a fully funded Network of peer-group support to develop strategic thinking and self-belief among business owners / leaders
- Access to fully funded themed residential courses for groups of business leaders for personal development
- The opportunity to access the wider portfolio of Business Link funded support programmes and specialist advisory services (covering key business issues such as innovation, leadership and management, design and ICT)*.

- Ambitious businesses with transformational objectives
- Businesses in ‘wealth creating’ sectors in the West Midlands**
- Businesses with fewer than 250 employees***
- Businesses that have a leadership team structure or the potential for one
- Leadership teams that are receptive to thirdparty support and mentoring, and have the ability to take on multiple improvement projects.
