WMCCE launch Benchmarking Forum

1st Jul 2010

July sees the launch of the WMCCE Benchmarking Forum. Enabled by our partner The Centre for Construction Innovation North West (CCINW), the Forum will provide a new and unique opportunity for clients and constructors in the West Midlands to better understand their  performance in relation to their regional peers.

Subscription services such as Constructing Excellence’s KPI Zone have, for some years now, allowed businesses to compare their Key Performance Indicator scores to the national KPI benchmark data. In this way, KPI Zone enables people involved in delivering projects to understand how they are performing in comparison to the rest of the industry.

The WMCCE Benchmarking Forum will go one better, allowing clients and constructors to actually talk to the people against whom they’re comparing themselves – people who experience the same regional constraints and opportunities as they do.

"The procurement environment is changing. Prompted by a recession and spurred on by a change in government, both public & private clients are seeking quality and value at keen prices. How can you demonstrate your capability to deliver added value at competitive prices if you haven't any data? The benchmark forum will help and support your business raising its game in response to these demands" says Vicky Hutchinson, Project Manager at CCI. Furthermore, the Forum provides the tools and techniques for clients and constructors to optimise their performance measurement processes.

Membership of the forum will provide:

  • Access to online benchmarking tool, the KPI Engine, allowing reporting against the national benchmark data on a company and project basis
  • Online benchmarking against the WMCCE Benchmark Forum members via the KPI Engine
  • Help for those new to KPI in setting up their performance measurement systems
  • Sharing between members of knowledge and experience in delivering projects
  • Tips on using your data to win work and drive continuous improvement

The first meeting of the WMCCE Forum will be on the afternoon of July 22 at Embassy House, Birmingham. The meeting is free to attend, but membership of the Forum from there on will cost £200 per year for members of Constructing Excellence’s KPIzone and £600 for non-members.
