The West Midlands Construction Action Plan was launched by the Minister for the West Midlands, Ian Austin MP on 21st December 2009 at the site of the new Birmingham Library. The launch was hosted by Carillion.

During the launch, Mr Austin was greeted by David Bucknall, Chairman of WMCCE, by members of the West Midlands Task Force Construction Action Plan steering group and by representatives of other organisations including Advantage West Midlands.
