Advantage West Midlands

There are various sources of funds available for businesses from Advantage West Midlands.

Support WM

This AWM site indicates how support can be provided to businesses and to individuals.

Transition Loan Scheme

This scheme loans up to £250k, mainly to SMEs, although there are some instances where larger sized companies can be helped. Further details can be obtained from the Transition Loan Scheme site. [But funds may not be available from this source after 30th November 2009]

Grants for Business Investment

This applies to certain companies in particular areas. Further information can be obtained from the Grants for Business Investment site.

Inward Investment

This may be of interest to companies from overseas. Further information can be obtained from the Inward Investment site

Modern Built Environment Knowledge Transfer Network (MBE KTN)

The MBE KTN works with the Technology Strategy Board. Further information on opportunities available can be found at their web-site.

Innovation Vouchers

Support for businesses in the construction sector are from time to time available through the Innovation Voucher scheme administered by Aston University.

Innovation Networks

Through continuing AWM and ERDF funding, the Innovation Networks project offers grants to West Midlands SMEs that are collaborating with at least two other West Midlands SMEs on the development of an innovative new product, process or service. They can offer either a £10k revenue grant to cover costs such as prototype development and testing, or a £10k or £15k capital grant for items such as machinery or tooling that is needed for the innovative development.

The grant is quick and easy to apply for and they are happy to help people with their applications. They aim to get a decision on all applications within two weeks.

Sustainability Support

RE:think Energy is a renewable energy technology grant scheme which offers private and public sector organisations grants to undertake feasibility or specification studies. It provides grants for organisations in Shropshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
