Organised by The West Midlands Centre for Constructing Excellence (WMCCE), Birmingham City Council's Building Consultancy Service, and the Chartered Institute of Building's (CIOB) West Midlands Branch, Celebrating Construction 2010 will provide recognition of the professionalism, excellence and innovation that lies at the heart of the West Midlands Construction Industry.

The ceremony, which will be held at the ICC, Birmingham on 30th April 2010, will incorporate both the WMCCE Constructing Excellence Awards and Birmingham City Council’s Annual Built in Quality Awards.

This year, in line with the Demonstration Project and other Best Practice initiatives, the categories for the WMCCE Awards are Leadership in People Development, Integration and Collaborative Working, Health and Safety, Sustainability, and Innovation. In addition, for the first time, there will also be a Project of the Year Award. This will be presented to the project team that has shown exemplary technical achievement, team working, innovation, and application of best practice whilst delivering a project to time and budget.

The WMCCE Awards are open to organisations, both public and private, based in or working within, the West Midlands.

WMCCE Award winners will be eligible for inclusion in the annual National Constructing Excellence Awards where they will compete against award winners from throughout the UK. This provides an excellent opportunity for organisations however large or small to show their excellence at a national level. The National Awards normally take place in November in London.

Celebrating Construction 2009, which was held in April saw close to 1000 construction professionals get together for what was a very well supported event.
