Demonstration Projects are active construction projects that are innovating or applying an element of best practice. Constructing Excellence works with these leading-edge projects to capture the learning from them and uses that learning to influence change in the industry. Experience tells us that nothing can compare to using lessons from real projects when trying to make the case for change in construction.
Project participants commit to learning and sharing from, and with, each other and must also agree to measure their performance with Key Performance Indicators in order to prove the business case for change.
Those that have been involved have identified two key benefits from participating in the Programme. Firstly, there are the marketing and profile raising activities that Constructing Excellence can bring. These include case studies, press and newsletter articles and opportunities to present at events. Secondly, many Demonstration participants find a lot of value in engaging with other Demonstrations to learn and share from one another. We try to facilitate these communities of best practice whenever possible.
“Learning and sharing as part of the Demonstration Programme has enabled Stepnall to access best practice knowledge to benefit the whole organisation and has lead to both regional and national recognition for the Whitecross High School project, our most successful Demonstration.” Richard Wakeford, Stepnall Limited.
