A Constructing Excellence Club is a forum for individuals to learn about the principles of Best Practice, while creating a culture and local support network of continuous improvement. It offers the opportunity for an informal group of highly developed, innovative people to learn from each other, share that knowledge, and ultimately improve their business.
Anyone who is in the construction industry can get involved - from the client or owner of a building, to the design team, main and specialist contractors, house builders and materials manufacturers and suppliers. However, anyone linked to the construction industry and its supply chain is also welcome to join. The club is there to share knowledge and best practice and there are benefits to anyone who joins. Clubs vary according to the local nature of the construction industry. Typically, a best practice club will comprise a group of perhaps 20+ people (steering group) who meet locally a number of times each year to learn about Best Practice from each other. The meetings are often informal and are usually held in the mornings (breakfast) or evenings. The Clubs are a good opportunity to network as they are open to clients, contractors, consultants, and specialists - indeed anyone involved in the process of construction.
The West Midlands Centre for Constructing Excellence (WMCCE) provides support to the six clubs in the region, mainly administrative to some extent financial also while funds last.
