Celebrating Construction 2010Applications for the WMCCE Constructing Excellence Awards (WMCCE Awards), part of Celebrating Construction, the major regional annual showcase and awards ceremony for the Construction Industry are now being extended to 30 November 2009.
Organised by The West Midlands Centre for Constructing Excellence (WMCCE), Birmingham City Council's Building Consultancy Service, and the Chartered Institute of Building's (CIOB) West Midlands Branch, Celebrating Construction 2010 will provide recognition of the professionalism, excellence and innovation that lies at the heart of the West Midlands Construction Industry.
The ceremony, which will be held at the ICC, Birmingham on 30th April 2010, will incorporate both the WMCCE Constructing Excellence Awards and Birmingham City Council’s Annual Built in Quality Awards.
Following successful promotional activities and to allow further applications for the Constructing Excellence Awards, WMCCE has decided to extend the deadline for submission of applications to Monday, 30th November 2009.
Michael Thompson, Executive Director of WMCCE commented: "There are many companies in the region interested in taking part in this event to showcase their achievements to their peers. As such, they need more time to prepare their applications and we have decided to extend the deadline for submission to 30th November 2008 in order to accommodate them"
The Constructing Excellence Awards are open to both public and private sector organisations based in the West Midlands and whose business is construction related. The Awards will be made in the categories of
WMCCE Award winners will be eligible for inclusion in the annual National Constructing Excellence Awards where they will compete against award winners from throughout the UK. This provides an excellent opportunity for organisations however large or small to show their excellence at a national level. The National Awards normally take place in November in London.
Celebrating Construction 2009, which was held in April saw close to 1000 construction professionals get together for what was a very well supported event.
