New build - an extremely high profile and high value project for Birmingham City Council together with Thomas Vale's aspiration for best practice through the pre-construction and construction phases.
Project Innovation:
The project highlights Best Practice across a range of issues which include: collaborative design through value management and engineering; on site work activity studies to improve productivity and collaborative planning and project management.
Current Status:
The building has now been completed the handover ceremony was held on the 20th October and attended the Lord Mayor of Birmingham.

This is a partnership between Birmingham City Council and Thomas Vale.
The Construction Phase is between August 2009 and August 2011 with a client fit out from August 2011 until January 2012.
The principal drivers are:
- To ensure the project is managed using the most up to date technologies and procedures
- To explore and put into place cutting edge systems that will add tangible value to the build process and the completed product
- To raise the team's profile in high value projects
- To provide a facility that will enable the Client's 'Working for the Future' strategy to be fulfilled.

Topping Out
A topping out ceremony at the Woodcock Street site took place on 28th October 2010. A number of guests were able to celebrate this landmark in the construction of the building alongside officals from Birmingham City Council, Thomas Vale and EMCOR Building Services.

Handover
The completed building was handever over to Birmingham City Council on 20th October 2011, with staff starting to occupy the building almost immediately afterwards.
