The Technology Strategy Board has launched 3 competitions that support companies in the built environment to innovate. Fionnuala Costello, Lead Technologist on the Low Impact Buildings Innovation Platform introduced these three competitions and the opportunities they presented at a WMCCE Breakfast Briefing on Friday 14th May:

• Design for Future Climate - This competition will overcome market failures in adapting building designs to the future climate and produce a wealth of knowledge to support the industry.
• Building Performance Evaluation - This competition will enable companies developing, building and operating domestic and non-domestic buildings to apply for funding to monitor building performance, and conduct post-occupancy evaluations.
• Smart Meters and Smart Homes - This competition is aimed at accelerating the speed at which innovations are able to enter the market.
