Making sense of waste infrastructure planning

Organiser:
Advantage West Midlands in partnership with RTPI West Midlands and the CIEH
Venue:
Austin Court, Birmingham
Date:
24th Jun 2010
Duration:
6 hours
Time:
09:00 – 15:10
Summary:

By 2020, the West Midlands will be producing nearly 4 million tonnes more waste than we will have the capacity to process. This material is valuable and sending it to landfill will be a missed opportunity from both an environmental and commercial perspective.

The new waste reprocessing facilities the region needs must be located in the most appropriate places. The role of planners and environmental health professionals in the decision making process is critical.

This FREE seminar is organised by Advantage West Midlands in partnership with RTPI West Midlands and the CIEH. It offers delegates a chance to discuss the issues involved and understand the importance of developing waste management infrastructure in the West Midlands.
