Alumet Systems will be showcasing their efforts in the fields of sustainability and the environment. Their special guest will be TV Botanist Dr David Bellamy OBE. The Open Day will run from 12pm to 4pm.
From midday on Friday 4th June at our Southam facilities in Warwickshire you will be able to visit stands from environmental organisations such as the Carbon Trust, where experts will be on hand to advise on how you can become more environmentally friendly and in turn save money.
The day will feature a Farmer’s Market style collection of stalls, each detailing different services, products and information relating to environmental issues. Stalls will include such areas as:
The afternoon will also include a tour of our facilities, a buffet lunch and drinks. We will demonstrate Alumet's commitment and capability to comply with current environmental legislation and exceed the required supply-chain standards.
We have recently appointed a full time Environmental Manager and a designated 'Green Team' . We see this as a very important milestone for the company in achieving our aims of sending 'zero waste to landfill' by 2014 and to significantly reduce our carbon footprint by making continual reductions in our paper, water, electricity, gas, heating oil and diesel usage year on year.
We are proud of our recent achievements, which include Achilles accreditation, CHAS accreditation, Construction News - Building Envelope Contractor of The Year, Investors in People re-accreditation and ISO 14001 accreditation (expected in May 2010).
We realise that this is just the start of an ongoing process which we intend to enforce across all departments and with our suppliers to provide a quality service that sets the standard for environmental best practise in the construction industry.
