This briefing will provide details of this years Energy Efficient Buildings European Initiative call for applications.  This €85 million funding pot provides opportunities for companies to carry out research in areas including retrofitting building fabric, domestic heating & hot water, low energy demonstration buildings.

Background

The European Comission, in partnership with industry will invest €2 billion over the next 10 years in the Energy Efficient Buildings European Initiative.  It aims to deliver, implement and optimise building slutions that have the technical, economic and societal potential to address the challenge to reduce energy usage in Europe.  The built environment sector in the UK has traditionally shied away from getting involved in European Funding. This breakfast briefing will provide an introduction to the 2010 call for proposals as well as information on where to go for guidance on submitting proposals and to find European partners.
