Organiser:
Forum for Constructing Excellence (FORCE)
Venue:
Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, Coventry
Date:
30th Sep 2010
Duration:
1.5 hours
Time:
08:00 - 09:30
Summary:

The 1st October 2010 will see the following come into force:

  • Part F (ventilation)
  • Part J (combustion appliances)
  • Part L (conservation of fuel and power)

Government consider Part L to be a major step towards zero carbon and is promoting renewable technologies to help deliver this commitment.
In particular, Park L will entail a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions from 2006 standards with the resultant requirement for improvements to the specifications for services and the building envelope to achieve the necessary reduction in CO2 emissions.
The transitional arrangements for these changes are:

  • The 2006 versions will apply to projects commenced on site before 1 October 2010
  • The 2006 versions will apply to all Initial Notices served before 1 October 2010 and commenced before 1 October 2011
  • The 2010 versions will apply to all applications made after 1 October 2010-06-29

This is a CPD event and we can provide CPD certificates if required.
